Flamingo Collections: How I work

I start by sourcing my own photos with a tropical flamingo theme in mind.

Then I pencil some rough sketches on paper to capture the beginning of the motifs. Watercolor paint to enhance the design.

I then scan the watercolor images into the computer and vectorize the motifs in Adobe Illustrator.

A repeating pattern is then arranged and created from the motifs.

The pattern is printed on fabric and hand sewn for “Shelly Craig”.
